Grimboldt

The Grimboldt is one of the most horrifying creatures you’ll encounter in the story. Imagine something part moose, part lion, part corpse — and all nightmare. They have the hind legs and hooves of a deer or moose, the massive body of a bear or lion, and their front paws are those of a predator. They can run on all fours, but oddly enough, they’re even faster when upright.

What makes them truly terrifying are the eyes. Glowing red and wide, they seem to freeze you in place — not from fear, but something deeper, almost magical. Many victims never even run.

And then there’s the blood. Their skin is mottled and dead-looking, like a bloated carcass, but if you manage to wound them, their blood burns like acid. That’s why most warriors try to kill them without spilling a drop — using clubs, strangling ropes, or even drowning.

Some folks jokingly call them “zombie cows” or “zombie lions.” But once you’ve seen one… it stops being funny.
